SummaryThe Transmission Material Specialist is responsible for hands‑on inventory management within the storeroom, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools and equipment. This role ensures accuracy in inventory records and supports Transmission operational needs.
Perform day‑to‑day storeroom tasks such as receiving, storing, issuing and returning materials, tools and equipment to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Conduct cycle counts, reconciliations, audits, and inspections to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Safely operate material‑handling equipment, including forklifts, in compliance with safety guidelines.
Order material through Transmission project management software for operation projects and perform Project Closeout tasks.
Coordinate with Transmission warehouse and/or vendors to ensure timely and accurate receipt of materials, tools, and equipment.
Collaborate with Team Lead, district personnel, Supply Chain Management and other departments to meet inventory demands and address discrepancies.
Maintain organized and orderly storeroom conditions, adhering to 5S and lean practices as applicable.
Education, Experience & SkillsHigh school diploma or GED plus minimum 5 years of experience in warehousing and inventory management; or Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field plus minimum 3 years of experience in warehousing and inventory management required.
Certification to operate forklifts or other material‑handling equipment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Warehouse Management System (WMS) and inventory management software.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards, including OSHA; OSHA
10 certification preferred.
