Job Summary: The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, accurate inventory management, and a safe working environment. This role includes supervising warehouse staff, coordinating shipments and deliveries, and maintaining high standards of productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping.
- Assign tasks and provide direction to warehouse associates to meet operational goals.
- Ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor workflows and adjust as needed to support changing priorities or workloads.
- Lead, motivate, and train warehouse staff to achieve performance targets.
- Provide coaching and feedback to team members to promote skill development and accountability.
- Assist in scheduling work shifts and ensuring proper staffing levels.
- Support new employee onboarding and ensure adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with regular cycle counts and audits.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory or shipping documentation.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards before shipment.
- Oversee proper labeling, packaging, and handling of materials.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety checks and report potential hazards promptly.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse regulations, company policies, and local laws.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement improved warehouse processes.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to optimize operations and track performance metrics.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 12 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and warehouse best practices.
