Additive Manufacturing Engineer
This versatile, hands-on role is intended for a lead-level Additive Manufacturing Engineer who will act as a technical lead, owning additive manufacturing (AM) process and product maturation from development through production deployment. Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) is the primary AM technology for this role, with additional modalities being explored across a range of metal alloys and gas turbine components. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, quality assurance, and close collaboration with internal and external partners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Own and execute new and existing additive product and process improvements, including troubleshooting issues while ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
- Set up additive build files and oversee post-processing, part inspection, analysis, and process documentation, with strong communication to engineers and technicians.
- Own the development, producibility, and robust qualification of additive products and test hardware, advancing MRL levels and transferring qualified technologies into the Gas Power supply chain.
- Lead root cause analysis for additive parts and processes.
- Work closely with plant manufacturing engineers to industrialize complete additive supply chains.
- Partner with internal customers to develop production catchers and implementation plans covering the full lifecycle of additive parts.
- Support training and education efforts across the organization, providing expertise in topology optimization, lattice structures, generative design, and other Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) techniques.
- Engage in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives and support the maintenance and enhancement of engineering processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
