EAH is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the accounting department's day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to grow, and has a foundational understanding of accounting principles. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will assist with transaction processing, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance in a fast-paced distribution and e-commerce environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to develop skills within a growing, private-equity-backed organization.
GeneralAccounting
- Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and quarterly accounting activities.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support the reconciliation of sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Maintain supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring accounting policies and internal controls.
- Support sales and use tax filings and related reconciliations.
- Reconcile sales tax information across financial systems and Avalara.
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc financial reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to accounting leadership.
- Assist internal stakeholders with financial reporting requests.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of accounting experience, including internships.
- Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite or Great Plains.
- CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA certification.
- Familiarity with eCommerce, distribution, or inventory-based businesses.
- High level of accuracy and accountability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
