The Assistant Corporate Controller supports the Corporate Controller in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate consolidated financial statements, managing commission and rebate calculations, supporting subsidiary reporting, and assisting with month-end, year-end close, external audits, and tax compliance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :- Assist the Corporate Controller in areas of financial reporting.
- Review/Oversee ISA Commission calculations.
- Review/Oversee Incentive/Rebate calculations.
- Manage the accounting function for certain subsidiaries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly for certain subsidiaries.
- Provide accurate and appropriate reporting to ownership.
- Assist Corporate Controller with year end audit procedures.
- Assist Corporate Controller with tax compliance.
- Provide support for the annual budgeting activities.
- Assist Corporate Controller with responding to inquiries from the CFO, CEO, or other management personnel regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
- Other responsibilities as determined by the Corporate Controller.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Five or more years of accounting experience.
- Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.
- Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, and upper management.
- Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- A superior work ethic.
Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization. - Time management and prioritization skills.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Travel is possible.
- May be required to work extra hours and weekends at month-end or year-end. In addition, additional work hours may be required during the budget process.
