Special Ed Student Attendant

6.0 Hours (8:15a - 2:45p w/30 paid lunch)

Pay Rate: $16.65 - $21.39

Preferred Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Two years of child care or aide certification preferred.

* Ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.

* Able to use a computer.

* Good organization skills.

* Ability to work co-operatively with other personnel.

* Ability to perform clerical skills including, but not limited to filing, copying, and record keeping.

* Must be punctual.

* A working knowledge of devices and equipment commonly used in public schools.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality.

* Ability to successfully complete CPR/First Aid training.

* Ability to work with a variety of student disabilities.

* Ability to perform all items as listed in the essential duties.

* Experience working with children with emotional and physical disabilities preferred.

* Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted.

* Ability to operate wheelchairs and other mechanical devices designed to aid the student with a disability; or possess the ability to learn.

* Ability to communicate clearly and articulately.

* Validation of qualifications as determined by interview.

* Other relevant criteria determined by the Board of Education, Superintendent and/or designee.

* Ability to attend Restraint training per ORC.
