Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineering
As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, planning, and implementing a wide variety of civil engineering projects. Other exciting components of the role will have you collaborating with other discipline teams in key ideas, projects, and implementations. In addition to design, engineers also collaborate with sales staff and client proposals. This is a multifaceted role that will have you learning, and constantly growing.
Design- Reviewing draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and permitting requirements.
- Ensuring that firm policies and practices (CAD standards, QA/QC) are followed on all designs.
- Performing site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
- Preparing design documents for industrial clients for all facets of Civil Engineering (site layout, grading, utilities, pavements, stormwater management).
- Updating design requirements as necessary.
- Reviewing draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
- Developing Scope of Work, Estimate of Hours, and Bid Packages as necessary to support the proposal and design efforts.
- Collaborating with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Meeting with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
- Attending conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
- Providing technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
- Mentoring more junior staff and developing them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
- Supervising the work of junior engineers on project work.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 7 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Expert Knowledge of Auto Desk Civil 3D, experience using Infra Works, Recap, Navis Works and Civil design software including Storm & Sanitary Analysis, Hydra Flow Hydro Graphs & Storm Sewers.
Skills and AbilitiesExpert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent and written communications skills. Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
