Grooming Salon Leader –

Job Summary:

The Grooming Salon Leader leads salon operations and manages team members to deliver high‑quality grooming services. Responsibilities include fostering a positive work environment, driving salon performance, and coaching groomers while performing expert grooming services such as bathing, drying, brushing, cutting, and detailing.

• Oversee day‑to‑day salon operations, workflow, scheduling, inventory, and staffing.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise groomer staff; provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
• Create efficient grooming schedules to maximize capacity and meet customer demand.
• Monitor salon metrics (revenue, customer satisfaction, productivity) and develop action plans.
• Collaborate with store management to achieve sales targets and salon objectives.
• Interact professionally with pet parents, offer recommendations, and resolve inquiries.
• Stay current on grooming industry trends and best practices.
• Perform all grooming duties (bathe, dry, brush, cut, nail trim, ear and gland cleaning) following breed standards and company procedures.
• Maintain tool and equipment operation, disinfection, and sanitation of the salon.
• Ensure safety and well‑being of all pets, monitoring for any signs of discomfort or illness.
• Adhere to Petco grooming policies, standards, and guidelines.

• Minimum 2 years as a professional groomer or completion of a technical grooming program.
• 1–2 years of salon management or related leadership experience preferred.
• High‑school diploma or GED (not required).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of dog breeds, grooming requirements, health issues, and behaviors.
• Expert proficiency in breed‑specific cuts and styling techniques.
• Strong passion for animals and desire to advance in pet grooming.

• Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Results‑driven with commitment to salon productivity and growth.
• Attention to detail ensuring high‑standard grooming services.
• Capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with empathy.
• Availability to work full time, 35 hours per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

The role is primarily indoors with frequent bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 lbs), and standing. Exposure to heights, wet surfaces, and noise is common.

USD 15.00 – 28.00 per hour.
