The Stylist engages with guests, consults on their hair‑care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. The Stylist supports the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through a focus on performance, people, and process.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services while contributing to store objectives related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink.
• Demonstrate business acumen, understanding of drivers and growth opportunities, and participation in product demonstrations to drive sales.
• Support execution of in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve walk‑in guests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store, well‑rounded guest experience.
• Foster professional peer and brand partner relationships that enhance guest service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Know and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Adhere to established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking systems to schedule guests for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM and maintain guest readiness.
• Maintain store operational standards across the salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Follow loss prevention best practices to protect company assets.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques and equipment for all service categories.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell pro hair‑care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Independent and team‑oriented work ability.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility, lifting up to 10 lbs, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

The pay range for this position is $11.00 – $13.95 per hour or services pay, with factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime pay and tips. Full‑time associates are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part‑time associates are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
