The Loader Operator Trainee for Ecoservices in Waggaman, LA, is responsible for monitoring all acid tank levels and direct acid transfers to and from the unit by rail or truck.
What You Will Be Doing- Monitor the unit utilizing Pi Data Historian system
- Monitor and handle all acid loading movements from tanks to rail, trucks, and pipeline, per the business needs
- Perform daily inspections assigned to the area such as tanks, trucks, and railcars
- Handle loading and unloading responsibilities for the area which include rail and trucks as needed
- Monitor and oversee all maintenance jobs in the loading area
- Perform inspection of showers, emergency eyewash, and alarm system of each loading spot at the truck and rail racks
- Monitor process for leaks, and ensure that the loading of the product follows normal procedures as required
- Execute operator rounds pertaining to the loader position
- Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per job task specification or specified plant location
- Perform other duties/projects as designated by supervisor, and parameters are indicative to average requirements that are not inclusive based on change in operational, safety, or environmental factors
- Handle lockout/tagout for loading designated areas and writing permits as the equipment owner
- Perform sampling and run analyses as needed per procedures
- Review all safety concerns generated in the database
- Execute weekend safety reading rounds
- Complete work permits as required
- Perform equipment inspection for leaks, breakage, and malfunction within the unit/pipeline
- Assist in reviewing and modifying safe operating procedures (sop)
- Perform inspection of trailers and railcars exterior and interior
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a min of 3 plus years of operational/process technology experience in a chemical plant, prior line management experience preferred: or 1-year Process Technology certificate from a college or technical school, with the above experience
- Must have the ability to obtain Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to wear appropriate PPE and respiratory protection including supplied air
- Able to perform under stress when confronted with emergencies, critical, unusual or dangerous situations or with situations in which speed and sustained attention are required aspects of the job
