Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Or Medical Technologist (MT)

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) plays a crucial role in the healthcare team at Wagoner Community Hospital by performing laboratory tests that are essential for diagnosing and treating patients. This position involves analyzing biological samples, interpreting results, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test outcomes. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field for MLT, or a Bachelor's degree biology or chemistry MT
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification by a recognized accrediting agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic health records.
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas of laboratory science.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory tests on various biological specimens.
  • Analyze test results and communicate findings to healthcare providers in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
