About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Wagoner Community Hospital, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, immediate care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, triage, and treat patients in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that each individual receives timely and appropriate medical attention. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatments as necessary.

Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies. Ultimately, your efforts will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of care within the community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting.
  • Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions upon arrival in the emergency room.
  • Triage patients based on the severity of their conditions and prioritize care accordingly.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding health issues and treatment options.
Skills

The required skills for this position include strong clinical assessment abilities, which are essential for accurately evaluating patients' conditions and determining the urgency of care needed. Effective communication skills are vital for collaborating with team members and providing clear instructions to patients and their families. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills will be utilized daily to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

Additionally, proficiency in technical skills, such as administering IVs and performing emergency procedures, is crucial for delivering effective care. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with EHR systems, will enhance your efficiency in documenting patient information and coordinating care.
