Position Summary
Walmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians! You will make an impact as a maintenance technician by diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance duties for all commercial equipment to support our Walmart stores. You will be responsible for developing preventative maintenance schedules and completing assigned PMs within the timeframe outlined, as well as conducting training for Store Associates regarding the care and cleaning of equipment.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
- Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality.
- Manage work orders and routine maintenance schedules by completing and providing required written and electronic information (expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs, etc.).
- Previous experience in maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, etc.).
- Understanding of the importance of Customer Service and clear, transparent, respectful communication.
- Personal accountability and effective time management to achieve commitments.
- Ability to adapt to changing and competing demands using solid judgment to identify priorities.
- Belief in Servant Leadership and teamwork to achieve goals.
- 3 years’ experience in maintenance.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
- Eligibility for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years’ experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- 5 years’ experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
