Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC Journeyman

Position Summary

Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. If you have relevant experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC, bring your skills to our fast‑paced and welcoming work environment.

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician, you will support and oversee repair within Walmart’s refrigeration and HVAC equipment team, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and a variety of tools.

• Maintain and repair refrigeration HVAC equipment using hand, digital, and power tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair orders, support store associates, and document activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required safety and equipment training.
• Ensure compliance with OHS and EPA regulations per Walmart safety policy.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
