The Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician supports preventive maintenance programs, leads field teams, and communicates effectively with customers and management. Operating company vehicles and utilizing digital tools to manage service calls are essential.

The Facility Services HVAC-Refrigeration team collaborates closely to install, maintain, and repair complex HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple locations. Team members share expertise and resources to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards. They support each other by providing guidance, mentoring, and effective communication to meet business priorities and customer needs. The team embraces continuous learning and adapts to new challenges while upholding company policies and ethical standards.

- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, and HVAC systems to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to OSHA standards and EPA refrigerant handling protocols.
- Lead and mentor field teams, providing technical guidance and promoting safety practices.
- Manage service calls, documentation, and coordinate with external providers as needed.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong ability to interpret schematics, layout plans, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Skilled in preventive maintenance to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Ability to lead and mentor team members while collaborating with management and customers.
- Valid driver's license with safe operation of company vehicles and adherence to safety policies.

Option 1:
Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls. Option 2: 4 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field. Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling. Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle report. Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program, Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located, Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
