Position: SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Key Responsibilities

  • You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), located in the Security Manager (N00SM
    ) of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific (NCTAMS PAC).
  • You will serve as the expert leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Information, Personnel, Physical, Industrial, and Communication Security, alongside Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Information Assurance.
  • You will serve as the technical and analytical expert for all aspects of the Security Program for NCTAMS PAC and its Region.
  • You will plan, evaluate and execute a comprehensive security program encompassing all facets for security management, with protecting the various networks in the NCTAMS PAC Area of Responsibility (AOR) as the paramount focus.
  • You will establish security programs to meet requirements for NCTAMS PAC departments, components and regional activities, taking into consideration the needs of mission objectives, operation requirements, and personnel interests.
  • You will perform strategic planning, workforce planning, resource management, knowledge management, and auditing to ensure program compliance and operational readiness.
  • You will serve as the security expert and consultant for NCTAMS PAC and its region.
  • You will participate as a voting member in the development of new tools/systems, Navy policy and methods at the Department of the Navy, Chief Information Officer Information Assurance/Computer Network Defense Top 10 Focus Working Group.
  • You will provide local and regional oversight on the certification and accreditation of all networks in the NCTAMS PAC area of responsibility.
  • You will develop long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
  • You will serve as the principal advisor and representative to the Commanding Officer and Chief of Staff Officer on all matters of Communications Security/Electronic Key Management System.
  • You will plan and establish Security Department work objectives, and ensure completed work is timely and accurate.
  • You will act as Commanding Officer’s representative in granting, denying, revoking, suspending or restricting security clearances.

  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 752 and 801, proficiency level Advanced; the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
