Position Overview
The Visitor Control Specialist (VCS) is responsible for visitor intake, identity verification, credentialing, and access authorization at government Visitor Control Centers. The VCS processes guests, contractors, and affiliates entering secure facilities by issuing badges and credentials, conducting identity vetting, performing visitor screening, troubleshooting access issues, and maintaining accurate visitor records. Duties are performed in accordance with government directives, access control policies, and site‑specific procedures.
The position is on site at Camp Williams, UT.
- Perform visitor intake and credentialing, verifying identity and authorization, and issuing visitor, temporary, retention, and other access badges consistent with clearance and access requirements.
- Operate government credentialing and screening systems, including X‑ray machines, walk‑through and handheld metal detectors, LOVA, IAFIS, and badging terminals; conduct screening for prohibited items in accordance with site procedures.
- Issue CACs (DEERS/RAPIDS), Guest Decals, ISOPREP photos, fingerprint submissions, and other government‑required identity products, ensuring accurate documentation and secure handling.
- Troubleshoot visitor access issues by coordinating with Government Access Control Offices and other security personnel; resolve credentialing discrepancies and elevate concerns as required.
- Maintain visitor logs, statistics, screening documentation, and credentialing inventories; prepare and submit required reports in accordance with government and company standards.
- Support overall Visitor Control Center operations by maintaining situational awareness, assisting team members, complying with training/recertification requirements, and performing additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to verify identities and issue government‑controlled credentials, including visitor badges, CACs, DEERS/RAPIDS products, and access decals.
- Competence in operating X‑ray systems, walk‑through magnetometers, handheld metal detectors, and identity vetting tools (LOVA, IAFIS).
- Strong attention to detail for accurate issuance, tracking, and documentation of badges and visitor records.
- Professional communication and customer service skills to interact with visitors, contractors, employees, and government representatives.
- Ability to troubleshoot access problems collaboratively with government access offices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift 25 lbs., and meet government vision/hearing and physical fitness requirements.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain compliance with security protocols.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required; CI Polygraph acceptable with CCA approval pending Full‑Scope Polygraph, consistent with contract requirements.
- Experience in identity vetting, credentialing, access control, screening, or protective security in a government, military, or cleared environment.
- 3+ years combined construction trade experience, with experience in at least two of the following trades:
Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Sheet Metal, Welding, Drywall, Concrete/Masonry, Excavation. - Government‑Approved Visitor Control Training, including screening, credentialing, and security modules; annual recertification required.
- Valid State‑Issued Driver's License, 18+ years of age.
- U.S. citizenship or naturalized citizen required.
