The Senior Acceptance Test Engineer will lead acceptance testing for Ideal Aerosmith's complex motion test and simulation systems, including centrifuges, rate tables, multi-axis motion simulators, and associated electromechanical systems.

This role will be responsible for developing test plans and procedures, coordinating test activities, and verifying that systems meet technical specifications and customer requirements. The Senior Acceptance Test Engineer will work closely with engineering, system integration, manufacturing, and project teams throughout the testing process and will take ownership of the test phase for complex projects.

Travel:

Extensive travel is required, with trips lasting up to two weeks at a time and potentially limited time between travel assignments.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop overall test plans and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) for complex motion test and simulation systems.
  • Develop tests that demonstrate and validate system functionality, performance, and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and test engineers to develop test-specific procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate acceptance testing activities for complex projects.
  • Work closely with system integrators and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
  • Organize and sequence testing activities to improve efficiency and support project schedules.
  • Establish and promote consistent testing methods, processes, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance on test equipment, testing methods, instrumentation, and data collection requirements.
  • Train and support team members performing system testing and acceptance activities.
  • Review, analyze, and document test results and ensure testing is completed in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Serve as a company technical representative when reviewing and reconciling test results with customers or other stakeholders.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hardware or system-level testing experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience developing test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for complex equipment or systems.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement, metrology, mechanical inspection, and basic electrical testing.
  • Experience using test equipment such as autocollimators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and mechanical inspection tools.
  • Experience testing complex electromechanical or software-controlled systems preferred.
  • Ability to independently lead testing activities, troubleshoot issues, and make sound technical decisions.
  • Ability to travel extensively (domestic and internationally) and obtain a passport.
  • Due to federal contract requirements applicable to this position, candidates must be U.S. citizens.
