Overview
An Architect V performs difficult and complex professional architectural work in preparing and supervising the preparation of architectural and engineering designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy InformationThere are two (2) vacancies with the Department of Design and Construction, Facilities Division, located in Honolulu. The position is responsible for complex architectural planning, design, and support during construction work throughout the duration of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) or operating budget projects involved with the planning and design of public structures and buildings park and recreational facilities, the renovation, restoration, redesign of all City‑related grounds, and space management planning of City‑related facilities.
Responsibilities- Prepare and supervise architectural and engineering designs, plans, specifications and reports.
- Support construction work during CIP and operating budget projects.
- Assist in renovation, restoration, redesign of City‑related grounds and facilities.
- One (1) year of registered professional architectural work experience.
- Current State of Hawaii registration as a Professional Architect.
- Valid driver’s license (Type 3/automobile) is not required for this vacancy.
Graduation from a regionally‑accredited four‑year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in architecture or architectural engineering. Foreign credentials must be comparable and evaluated.
License Requirement1. Current State of Hawaii registration as a Professional Architect. Applicants with an out‑of‑state license must obtain the Hawaii license prior to appointment.
2. Maintain the license on a current basis thereafter.
