Job Overview
Recruitment Number 26-092LJ, Social Worker V (CSAC/DL/PO), SR-24, located in Wailuku, Maui.
Salary rate effective July 1, 2026.
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the operational activities of the Drug Court section.
- Supervise, consult, and train professional staff assigned to the program.
- Oversee case assignments, review case records, staff recommendations, and compliance with court orders.
- Guide staff in case planning, use of community resources, and monitoring deadlines and program requirements.
- Conduct staff training, section meetings, evaluate employee performance, and address complaints or personnel issues.
- Coordinate and collaborate with federal, state, county, and private agencies to support Drug Court clients and program objectives.
- Participate in inter‑agency meetings, training, and program activities that may occur outside normal business hours, including travel by car, fly, or ferry.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in social work, social welfare, criminal justice, human services, counseling, psychology, sociology, or related social sciences.
- Three and one‑half years of progressively responsible professional social work experience, or equivalent experience substitutable for the years of education.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and comprehensive reports, read complex written material, and solve complex problems logically.
- Experience in conducting assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and evaluating client progress.
- Professional certification: valid Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate (CSAC) issued by the State of Hawaii, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division. Applicants holding a foreign CSAC under IC‑RC standards may qualify but must obtain a Hawaii‑issued CSAC before employment can begin.
- Valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.
- All applicants must hold a current and valid driver’s license.
- Applicants may be contacted by the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) review process. Candidates with a history of sexual abuse, convictions, or allegations as described in the PREA requirements will be disqualified.
