Position: Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Location: Waimea/Kamuela

Overview

Registered Nurse, PACU in Kamuela, Hawaii. This travel assignment starts 06/08/2026 and runs for 16 weeks, with guaranteed 40 hours per week and 8-hour shifts in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,449 to $2,643 per week. This is a travel – temporary assignment designed to support perioperative recovery care in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide postoperative care in the PACU, including continuous monitoring of vitals, airway status, respiratory function, and pain control.
  • Assess patient condition, document findings, and communicate changes to the surgical and anesthesia teams.
  • Administer and manage medications per orders, including IV therapies, analgesia, antiemetics, and adjuncts as needed.
  • Maintain PACU equipment, ensure patient safety, monitor intake and output, and address immediate post-anesthesia concerns.
  • Prepare patients for discharge to the appropriate unit or direct transfer, ensuring proper documentation and handoff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support smooth recovery and timely patient throughput.
Requirements
  • Current Hawaii RN license (active, unencumbered)
  • ACLS, BLS/HCP, and PALS certifications current
  • CPAN and CPI (or equivalent) highly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience in Pre/Post and/or PACU environments;
    Phase I and II PACU and Pre-Op experience required
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
  • Must pass an EKG test with 80% or higher during orientation
  • All licenses and certifications must be current through the duration of the assignment
