Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii

We're looking for an experienced Lead Residential Carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving problems in the field, and is ready to take ownership of projects from start to finish. This role will lead day‑to‑day field operations, delivering exceptional craftsmanship on custom residential projects.

• Perform high‑quality framing, finish carpentry, and general residential construction
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications independently
• Coordinate daily workflow, materials, and jobsite activities
• Walk projects with leadership to ensure work aligns with project goals and expectations
• Help maintain project schedules through proactive planning and communication
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other field team members
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized jobsites
• Identify field challenges early and implement practical solutions
• Ensure every phase of construction reflects Imagine Development's quality standards

• 5+ years of residential carpentry experience
• Experience building custom homes is strongly preferred
• Strong skills in framing, finish carpentry, and residential construction methods
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings independently
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
• Dependable with a consistent commitment to quality
• Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors and field crews
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Appreciation for Hawaii's local culture and collaborative way of working
