Position DetailsThese positions perform secretarial services as a primary work assignment, along with minor administrative, clerical and related services for a program manager. The program manager is at a level requiring substantial involvement in planning, programming, budgeting, direction and coordination, and liaison and public relations.
An Administrative Assistant acts on behalf of the manager, facilitating workflow, coordination, management controls and relationships within and outside the organization.
The ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II serves as a secretary to the manager of a program of considerable scope and complexity, may supervise and participate in highly complex clerical work, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Legal authorization to work: Citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
- General clerical experience: Six months of experience demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic; ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and to speak and write plainly.
- Specialized clerical experience: Two years of progressively responsible typing and/or substantive clerical work, knowledge of common office appliances and equipment, procedures in clerical work systems, and ability to perform secretarial tasks as required.
- Keyboarding/computer skill: Ability to type 40 net words per minute, with or without reasonable accommodation. Some positions require computer and word‑processing proficiency.
- Shorthand/Dictation skill: Ability to take and transcribe dictation accurately at 80 net words per minute, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Driver’s license: Valid license required for some positions.
- Lift and carry: Ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights, with or without reasonable accommodation.
