- Teach high‑school biology across all grade levels.
- Demonstrate academic competence and develop interdisciplinary curriculum.
- Apply student‑centered, culturally responsive, and inquiry‑based instructional practices.
- Use data‑driven instruction, technology, and personalized learning to meet diverse student needs.
- Maintain growth mindset, collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, and support student wellbeing.
- Serve as a role model, advocate for students, and promote global competence.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field (or equivalent education and experience).
- At least 3 years of high‑school biology teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of age‑appropriate instructional strategies (differentiated instruction, project‑based learning).
- Proficiency with technology tools for instruction.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students and families.
- Effective communication and classroom management skills.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in biology or education.
- Experience with competency‑based learning.
- Teaching credentials appropriate for high‑school level.
- Knowledge and sensitivity to social justice, Hawaiian culture, and language.
Salary range: $61,111 – $160,818 per year, based on experience and credentials. Benefits include medical, Rx, vision, matching 401(k), and additional benefit summary available at KS website.
