Vulnerability Engineer

As a cyber vulnerability engineer on our team, you’ll be integral to designing, deploying, and operating security solutions across various DoW clients. You’ll use your extensive knowledge of cyber security tools and platforms to monitor, detect, and respond to potentially malicious activity that could compromise data, systems, or the mission.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and configure data security solutions.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and configurations for zero‑trust security posture.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to cyber events using SIEM and other visibility tools.
  • Document and diagram workflow processes for security monitoring and incident response.
  • Coordinate with a multidisciplinary zero‑trust engineering team to recommend design and operational improvements.
  • Mentor junior cybersecurity engineers.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions.
  • Experience with SIEM tools for visibility and analytics, including Elastic.
  • Experience with operating systems, including Linux, networking, cloud, and containers.
  • Experience in cyber event analytics and workflow.
  • Experience documenting and diagramming workflow processes.
  • Knowledge of scan capabilities, asset management visibility, and patch management systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Red Team activities.
  • Experience working in federal, DoD, or IC agency environments.
  • Experience managing and maintaining containerization solutions.
  • Knowledge of Splunk.
  • Knowledge of security engineering or cloud security.
  • Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, frameworks, federal security authorizations, assessment, and risk‑management processes for enterprise systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Engineering.
  • GEVA, CySA+ or CEH certification.
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information;
Secret clearance is required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $86,900.00 to $ (annualized USD).

Work Model
  • Remote:
    May require occasional in‑person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid:
    Expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently; may need to visit customer sites.
  • On‑site:
    Primarily performed at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
