Job SummaryA Systems Administrator (Windows Active Directory) will ensure the reliability, security, and compliance of Windows systems and applications within HQ USINDOPACOM networks. Managing over 150 servers across various security levels, this role involves patching, monitoring, log analysis, and collaboration with developers to enhance workflows.
Roles and Responsibilities- Maintain, update, and secure Windows systems and applications.
- Support critical HQ USINDOPACOM systems.
- Ensure compliance with DoD and USINDOPACOM security standards.
- Analyze processes and systems for improvements and automation.
- Utilize SPLUNK and Whats Up‑Gold for log analysis and asset monitoring.
- Manage patching and DoD PKI certificates.
- Administer Intune and Ivanti for patching, configuration, and security.
- Configure systems within the USINDOPACOM Endpoint Security Solutions architecture.
- Create and maintain custom scripts.
- Manage Windows Active Directory environments and provide status reports.
- Implement backup and restore procedures.
- Test and execute Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans.
- Maintain SOP and documentation.
- Offer after‑hours and weekend support as needed.
- Provide Monthly Status Reports.
- Experience managing and securing Windows Active Directory, Windows Servers, and Windows Workstations within a DoD environment.
- Experience securing systems and applications in accordance with Federal, DoD and HQ USINDOPACOM regulations, directives, policies, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
- Experience managing Endpoint Configuration Manager, Intune, Ivanti.
- Experience managing Group Policy (GPO).
- Experience utilizing SPLUNK, ACAS and Whats Up‑Gold.
- Experience managing Windows Server and Workstation operating systems in a Virtual Machine Operating Environment (VOE) like VMware.
- Proficient with Power Shell scripting, Active Directory Service Management, Group Policy, and automation.
- Experience patching Windows servers and workstations via automated tools.
- Experience backing up and restoring Active Directory and Windows operating systems in a virtual environment.
- Experience managing and reviewing audit logs.
- Experience supporting Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) agents on Windows systems.
- High School Diploma.
- At least 5+ years of experience managing and supporting Windows Active Directory (2016 or later), Servers (2016 or later) and Workstations (Windows 11 or later).
- IAW DoD 8140.03‑M, must meet the Intermediate Proficiency Level qualifications.
- IAT‑II (or higher) Certification.
- Typical office environment.
- Not required.
