The Opportunity:CACI is seeking an experienced Systems Reconfiguration Engineer, Senior to support the design, reconfiguration, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical information technology and logistics systems across the Indo-Pacific. The Systems Reconfiguration Engineer serves as CACI's Systems/Software Engineering - IT professional responsible for analyzing operational requirements, modifying system configurations, integrating hardware and software components, and ensuring systems can be rapidly adapted to changing mission, site, network, and operational conditions.
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Lead, this position provides senior technical expertise supporting distributed, expeditionary, and contested logistics environments.
The Systems Reconfiguration Engineer works closely with Government stakeholders, systems engineers, software engineers, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, field service engineers, data engineers, logistics personnel, vendors, and mission partners to plan and execute system reconfiguration activities while maintaining interoperability, cybersecurity, configuration control, and operational availability. The position supports Joint Theater Distribution Centers (JTDCs), Intermediate Staging Bases (ISBs), command-and-control nodes, warehouses, expeditionary facilities, and forward operating locations and provides technical guidance to junior engineering and technical personnel.
Responsibilities:- Plan, engineer, execute, and validate reconfiguration of mission-critical IT, logistics , communications, and supporting systems in response to operational, site, network, and mission changes.
- Analyze system architectures, technical baselines, interfaces, dependencies, and operational requirements to determine reconfiguration approaches that minimize mission disruption.
- Modify and validate hardware, software, operating system, application, network, interface, and device configurations within approved technical and security baselines.
- Develop system reconfiguration plans, implementation procedures, rollback plans, test procedures, engineering change documentation, and technical risk assessments.
- Coordinate with systems, software, network, cybersecurity, data, field service, and logistics personnel to integrate reconfigured capabilities into operational environments.
- Perform integration, functional, interoperability, regression, and operational acceptance testing following system reconfiguration or technology insertion.
- Troubleshoot complex configuration, interface, connectivity, performance, compatibility, and system-integration issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support rapid reconfiguration and relocation of systems supporting JTDCs, ISBs, warehouses, command-and-control nodes, expeditionary facilities, and forward operating locations.
- Maintain configuration baselines, system inventories, interface control documentation, engineering drawings, technical data, version records, and change histories.
- Support configuration control boards, engineering reviews, technical interchange meetings, and change-management processes; assess proposed changes for technical and operational impact.
- Coordinate system reconfiguration activities with RMF, cybersecurity, vulnerability management, and information assurance personnel to preserve authorization and security compliance.
- Support integration of edge devices, sensors, RFID/NFC technologies, data collection platforms, communications equipment, and enterprise applications into reconfigured system architectures.
- Evaluate system performance following reconfiguration and develop technical recommendations to improve availability, resilience, interoperability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support disconnected, disrupted, intermittent, and limited-bandwidth (DDIL) environments by developing configurations that sustain essential capabilities during degraded communications.
- Provide senior technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and field personnel performing configuration, integration, installation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop and maintain technical SOPs, configuration guides, installation procedures, test records, lessons learned, and knowledge-management products.
- Support exercises, contingency operations, humanitarian assistance/disaster response, surge requirements, and emergent missions requiring rapid system adaptation or deployment.
