Venture Dynamics is actively seeking LOCAL Marine Shipfitters for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Hawaii.
This position will perform Shipfitting duties in all stages of repair and modernization of Vessels at the Pearl Harbor Naval Station in Hawaii.
PAY IS $25.00-$35.00/HR, DOE.
Contract Duration:
Starts ASAP. Temp to Perm.
DAY AND SWING SHIFTS AVAILABLE.
Position OverviewFabricate, assemble, and install large steel components such as plates, bulkheads, and frames, to construct or repair the hull and structure of ships according to NAVSEA standards.
Interpret blueprints to align and tack weld pieces into place, primarily working in shipyards for commercial or naval.
Fabrication and LayoutInterpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications to lay out, cut, and shape metal parts.
Fitting and AlignmentUsing tools like come-alongs, chain falls, hydraulic jacks, wedges, and dogs to position and align steel components with high precision.
Welding and BurningPerforming tack welding (temporary welding to hold pieces) and utilizing oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and grinders to prepare materials.
Structural AssemblyBuilding the ship's internal and external frame, including decks, hull plating, and bulkheads.
Ensure all tasks meet or exceed quality control standards and are ready for inspection.
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
Conduct inspections of completed jobs to ensure structural integrity and adherence to safety protocols.
Key RequirementsCompletion of Marine OSHA 10 training is mandatory.
Citizenship- U.S Citizen with proof (Enhanced Driver License/ Real with Birth Certificate or U.S Passport).
Must be able to obtain a DBIDS Badge.
Certifications
- Maritime OSHA 10 certification.
Experience
- Previous shipyard experience required.
Working Hours- 50-60 hours per week.
SchedulingDiverse shifts include 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts.
Monday through Friday with overtime, and weekends as requested by client.
QualificationsStrong ability to work from blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in shipyard environments.
Familiarity with welding inspection and quality assurance is beneficial.
