Job Description SummaryProvides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with the role, provides triage care when necessary, and communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members.
Key Performance Areas- Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents as ordered by providers.
- Use Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines.
- Accurately and safely dispose of biohazardous waste per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
- Provide ongoing patient education, routine patient assessment, and support.
Thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients. Ensure appropriate charges are captured following guidelines for medication and activity administration, and follow proper patient identification per JBI for all encounters.
Teaching and Patient InteractionEducate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans. Interact with patients and families in a caring, professional manner.
Telephone TriagePrioritize incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices, responding appropriately within an acceptable timeframe.
Supplies ManagementAssist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, recommend new items as needed, and place stock in storage areas promptly.
Training and MeetingsComplete annual required safety and nursing trainings and attend all mandatory staff meetings. Assist in training new employees related to job duties per JBIs.
Work ExpectationsWork at any company location as needed; overtime may be required with sufficient notice. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Comply with all federal and state laws, patient privacy regulations, and departmental policies, including IT and Disaster Plan procedures.
Job Qualifications and Requirements Education- Nursing Degree
- Unencumbered RN license in state of employment or a multi‑state license
- Current CPR and BLS certifications
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Minimum of 1 year with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
- Ability to assess patient needs and condition, reacting calmly and effectively in emergencies
- Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analysis & Critical Thinking: problem solving, analysis, decision‑making, planning, time management, and organizational skills; detailed oriented with independent judgment.

Standard core workdays/Hundays:
Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Travel
