Responsibilities
Supervise the work of Bridge Maintenance Workers conducting general and hazardous maintenance on highway bridges and similar structures, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, and timber. Oversee repair and maintenance of buildings and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Legal authorization to work: Citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Experience and training: Six years of progressively responsible construction and maintenance experience, including three years in bridge maintenance and repair, and one year in supervisory capacity.
- Knowledge of: Bridge inspection and maintenance methods, steel welding and cutting, paint applications, rigging, scaffolds, safety precautions, supervision practices.
- Ability to: Plan, lay out, assign and review the work of Bridge Maintenance Workers; inspect bridges to determine repairs needed and estimate costs; prepare comprehensive maintenance reports and budgets.
- Physical and medical requirements: Must perform essential functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Driver’s license requirement: Valid license to drive in State of Hawaii at the time of appointment.
