Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Rental Service Manager, the Service and Maintenance Technician (SMT) exists to maintain production by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
Essential Functions- Maintains equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and greasing parts with a wash rack steam cleaner and high‑pressure washer.
- Completes rental equipment check ins and check outs.
- Prolongs endurance of equipment by completing preventative maintenance schedules.
- Documents actions by completing inspection reports and work orders.
- Completes deliveries and pickups of parts, small attachments and towable equipment if needed.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains and reports issues with facility wash rack, pressure washer, and pumps.
- Maintains overall organization of the equipment yard and attachment racking.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Determines condition of equipment by inspecting equipment before and after use, reporting damages and discrepancies.
- Maintains stock inventory to determine amount available, anticipating needed stock, placing and expediting orders for stock, and verifying receipt of stock.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Must have PC skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Must have forklift certified or be able to be certified within 60 days.
- Must have the ability to multi‑task and complete assignments.
- Walking:
Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain. - Hands/arms:
Operates equipment and hand and power tools. - Handling:
Seizes, helps, or works with hands. - Lifting:
Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools. - Reaching:
Extends hands and arms in any direction. - Stooping:
Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist. - Standing:
Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job. - Climbing:
In and out of equipment. - Raising/Lowering:
Goes up and down in man lifts. - Vision:
Reads paperwork, files, and records on the computer. - Talking:
Communicates by radio, phone, and in person. - Hearing:
Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around shop and construction sites and to receive communication by radio, phone, and in person. - Sitting:
Sits in equipment and vehicles for extended periods. - Laying:
Lies in prone position under vehicles and equipment for extended periods. - Lifting:
Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.
- Noise:
Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise. - Temp/Weather:
Works outside and in shop with variations of temperature and weather. - Exposure:
