Water Distribution / Treatment Plant Operator – Oahu

Pural Water Specialty Company, Inc. is an experienced State of Hawaii licensed contractor providing services for potable and non‑potable water systems along with specialty mechanical process programs and solutions. We have been serving the people of Hawaii and the Pacific for over 30 years.

During State emergencies, Pural Water is considered an Essential Service Provider, able to meet the operational needs for our customers and provide continuous, steady work.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Water Distribution or Treatment Plant Operator to join our Oahu team.

• Provides maintenance and repair for water and/or wastewater distribution systems including but not limited to wells, pumps, water catchments and storage systems, water filtration treatment plants, distribution piping, valves, fire hydrants and valves, flow control devices, taps, line stops, backflows, chlorination/dechlorination, and leak detection.
• Makes daily operations and maintenance inspections of assigned areas such as checking chemical feed systems, water collection and storage sites, water filtration treatment plants, and facility distribution system components.
• Install, maintain, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and service plant operations machinery and equipment including pumps, valves, motors, meters, tanks, reservoirs, and feeders.
• Installs flow meters, and backflow/cross connection prevention assemblies as assigned.

High School diploma;
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

2+ years of recent work related experience in water distribution systems or water treatment plants preferred.

Current Hawaii Distribution System Operator (DSO) Grade 1 or higher or Water Treatment Plant Operator (WTPO) Grade 1 or higher preferred.

Valid driver’s license with a clean traffic abstract.

Able to work after office hours and travel off island as needed.

Mechanically inclined and competent using hand‑held tools.

Electrical background a plus.

Must be able to clear background checks for access to secure work sites.

Courses in business administration or accounting are helpful.

Self‑motivated, works with little supervision or direction, and dependable.
