Automotive Technician
Repair damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards

List the essential job duties that are specific to the position.
- Perform collision repairs on vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Inspect vehicles to identify structural, mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic damage.
- Disassemble damaged vehicles to determine the full extent of repairs required.
- Perform structural repairs using frame machines, measuring systems, and other specialized equipment.
- Repair and replace damaged body panels, bumpers, fenders, doors, hoods, deck lids, and other components.
- Perform welding and sectioning procedures according to OEM repair procedures.
- Perform metal straightening, dent repair, and body panel adjustments.
- Install and properly align replacement parts and body components.
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs related to collision damage.
- Diagnose and repair wiring, lighting, sensors, cameras, and other electronic components.
- Perform ADAS-related inspections and repairs, including calibration requirements when applicable.
- Follow OEM repair procedures and ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
- Use repair manuals, technical information, and OEM documentation to determine proper repair procedures.
- Complete quality‑control inspections throughout the repair process.
- Communicate with estimators, management, painters, parts personnel, and other technicians regarding repair needs and vehicle status.
- Identify and communicate
supplemental damage
or additional repairs discovered during the repair process. - Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and parts required.
- Verify proper fit, alignment, gaps, and finish before vehicles move to the next stage of repair.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly operate and maintain shop tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Follow all OSHA, workplace safety, and environmental regulations.
- Handle hazardous materials and shop chemicals according to safety procedures.
- Protect customer vehicles from damage during the repair process.
- Maintain productivity and efficiency while meeting established repair‑quality standards.
- Attend required training and stay current with new vehicle technology, repair procedures, and equipment.
- Participate in ongoing manufacturer and industry training, includingI-CAR and OEM-specific training when required
. - Assist with final quality checks to ensure vehicles are safe, properly repaired, and ready for delivery.
- Maintain professional communication and provide excellent customer‑service support when interacting with customers or other departments.
- Take responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and safety of completed repairs.

- Valid driver’s license and clean traffic abstract requirements
- ASE certifications
- Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.
- Must have at least 1-2 years in a Collision Center setting.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree or technical school certification or equivalent with a minimum of 6 months of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
