Transfer Driver – Regional Kitchen

The Regional Kitchen Transfer Driver is responsible for verifying, loading, delivering, and checking in the Regional Kitchen prepared foods to stores within the required time frame. This includes verifying each store’s outbound loads against delivery invoices, loading products in route order to minimize drive times, securing loads at proper temperature, and offloading them to the store’s delicatessen walk‑in refrigerator. Unused totes are returned to the store and rerouted to the Regional Kitchen for reuse.

• Possess a type 3 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Complete company driver safety classes.
• Pass medical physical examination required by the Department of Transportation.
• Safely operate a 17,950 GVW 16‑foot box truck.
• Follow all Hawaii traffic laws and regulations.
• Learn product recognition for verification and receiving.
• Distinguish each store’s load and deliver the correct load to the appropriate location.
• Physically load, offload, and deliver loads to the appropriate store.
• Meet shift demands required to meet delivery windows.
• Maintain the truck, ensuring upkeep of basic maintenance (replenishment of DEF, fuel, checking oil and fluids, keeping truck cab and cargo hold immaculate); report any maintenance issues, damages, or required repairs to Logistics Management.
• Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace.
• Communicate well with Regional Kitchen staff, Logistics Management, and store management.
• Abide by all Company policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Logistics Management.

• Education & Experience – 2‑3 years of driving and delivery experience; high school education preferred; strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Language Ability – Speak, read, and write in English.

• Fast‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Assigned truck parked at a base store; report to the store when scheduled to work.
• Warehouse may be unair‑conditioned, reaching temperatures over 100 °F in summer.
• Truck storage & walk‑in chillers: 30‑40 °F.
• Truck storage & walk‑in freezer: below 0 °F.
• Moderate noise level.
• Susceptible to road traffic, weather elements while driving and during loading/offloading.
