The Superintendent (Lead Carpenter) is the on-site leader responsible for managing 2–3 remodeling projects from inception through completion. This role blends hands-on carpentry and technical construction work with project coordination and team leadership. The Superintendent partners closely with the Project Manager to deliver high-quality projects on time, on budget, and in alignment with company standards and client expectations.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, deep construction knowledge, excellent organization, and clear communication, while modeling professionalism, safety, and craftsmanship on every job site.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Site Management
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing remodeling projects.
- Oversee daily on-site operations to ensure efficient workflow and milestone completion.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, photos, progress reports, budget variances, and change authorizations.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise employees, subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules and material deliveries to avoid delays.
- Foster a respectful, productive, and safety-focused job site culture.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, NAHB Performance Guidelines, and company standards.
- Enforce all job-site safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds client expectations for quality and craftsmanship.
- Monitor project budgets and track expenses.
- Report budget discrepancies, scope changes, and risks to the Project Manager.
- Support schedule development and ensure timely completion of project phases.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding progress, changes, and concerns.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve construction challenges or conflicts as they arise.
- Perform skilled carpentry and installation work as required by project plans.
- Build and install materials according to drawings, specifications, and performance guidelines.
Experience & Knowledge
- Preferred 5 years of construction and remodeling experience.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong working knowledge of building codes, construction methods, trades, and safety practices.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Additional certifications (PMP or equivalent) are a plus.
- Ability to work in active construction environments.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials as needed.

- Environment:
Primarily on-site at residential remodeling projects; indoor and outdoor settings across all seasons. - Schedule:
Full-time, typically 7:30 AM–4:30 PM with a one-hour lunch break. - Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on project needs.
- Physical Demands:
Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying; must safely navigate construction sites. - Travel:
Frequent local travel to project sites; reliable transportation required. - Safety:
Strict adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies is mandatory. - Hourly compensation $22 - $25/hr., negotiable based on experience, skills, and credentials
- Daily and weekend overtime paid at time-and-a-half
- Weekly paychecks issued every Friday morning
