Carolina School Services (CSS) is hiring a Math Intervention Specialist for our Wake Forest clinic. This role is a great fit for someone who loves helping students build confidence and foundational math skills through structured, engaging instruction in a supportive clinic environment.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group math intervention (small groups typically 2–4 students)
- Part-time with consistent days/times each week, opportunity to build your won schedule
- Opportunity to grow into full-time as caseload builds
- Supportive administrative systems + collaborative clinic team
- Provide evidence-based math intervention to students (typically K–8; may vary by caseload)
- Deliver structured instruction targeting skill areas such as:
- number sense, fact fluency, computation
- place value, measurement, time/money
- word problems, math reasoning, multi-step problem solving
- Plan and lead engaging small-group sessions and individualized instruction
- Collect baseline data and complete ongoing progress monitoring to guide instruction
- Communicate clearly with familiesregardingprogress and strategies for carryover at home
- Collaborate with the CSS team as needed (OT, SLP, etc.) to support student success
- Maintaintimelydocumentation, attendance notes, and session planning per clinic standards
- Experience supporting children with math skills (classroom, tutoring, intervention, or related setting)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and families
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable using data to guide instruction
- NC teacher licensure (Elementary Education, Special Education, Math, etc.)
- Specialized training or experience in math intervention (examples: MTSS/RTI, intervention programs, multi-sensory math strategies)
- Experience supporting students with learning differences (including dyscalculia), ADHD, or executive functioning needs
- Familiarity with progress monitoring tools and/or curriculum-based measurement
- $20–$35/hour (based on certifications, experience, and licensure)
- 1099 independent contractor to start
- Option to transition to W-2 as hours increase / schedule becomes more consistent
