We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to our optometrists, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and a solid understanding of optometric practices. The Optical Technician will assist with various tasks related to eye care, including working with medical records and performing essential data entry duties.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-testing procedures for eye exams
  • Assist with contact lens fittings and prescription dispensing
  • Conduct visual field testing, OCT and autorefraction
  • Utilize optical knowledge to assist patients with lensometry
  • Handle scheduling appointments and maintaining electronic medical records
  • Assist our optical department and other areas of the practice where needed
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of optometric practices, including familiarity with medical coding systems.
  • Understanding of anatomy and physiology related to eye care is desirable.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is a plus.
