Overview
Position Summary:
Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts and provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams. Models exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model and supporting customer service initiatives, community programs, and issue resolution.
Drives financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing PL statements, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, controlling expenses, and ensuring alignment to sales. Develops action plans to mitigate shrink, improve merchandise presentation, and manage seasonal transitions and inventory flow to meet sales and profit goals.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, setting clear expectations, recognizing performance, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace while recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and growth potential.
Responsibilities- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by building relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans to meet customer and business needs.
- Identify and communicate goals and objectives; build accountability; measure progress; identify improvement opportunities; and promote continuous learning.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethics; apply Open Door Policy in executing business processes and practices.
- Foster a culture of belonging, collaboration, and trust; attract, develop, and retain talent; empower others and recognize contributions.
- Act with integrity and uphold Walmart values; support sustainability, community engagement, and a positive work environment.
- Deliver customer-first results by applying EDLP/EDLC models and making data-informed decisions balancing short- and long-term priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies and skills; support others through change.
2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities that sell only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred QualificationsBachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, and experience supervising five or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Annual salary range: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and location-based pay differentials where applicable.
