Job Description
Utility Plant Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Outside Sales Representative to drive business growth throughout North Carolina and surrounding territories. This individual will be responsible for developing new customer relationships, maintaining existing accounts, identifying opportunities for equipment and service sales, and serving as a trusted resource for customers operating boiler and utility plant systems.
The ideal candidate is self-driven, enjoys building relationships, and is comfortable spending significant time in the field meeting with plant managers, maintenance personnel, facility engineers, and decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities- Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and customer visits.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, institutional, and commercial customers.
- Conduct site visits to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Promote boiler maintenance services, mechanical services, engineering support, equipment sales, and Utility Plant Solutions.
- Follow up on leads and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to expand business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Stay informed on industry trends, customer challenges, and competitive offerings.
- Meet or exceed established sales and revenue goals.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customers and develop new business.
- Previous outside sales, business development, or industrial sales experience preferred.
- Experience selling technical products or services is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build relationships with customers at all organizational levels.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout North Carolina and surrounding states.
