Position
Accounting Clerk, Wakefield, MA. Pay rate: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing billing and accounts receivable related functions including the accounting and auditing of reimbursable expenditures.
- Post all bank transactions and complete necessary reconciliation.
- Complete weekly Mass Health checks to verify ongoing eligibility.
- Complete ongoing monthly billing audits for all DDS and Mass Health funds before submission to Accounting. Problem solve with applicable managers as needed.
- Assist in Mass Health Day Hab revalidation process.
- Record Representative Payee Social Security payments. Maintain report for Residual check distribution and bank transfer. Ensure all applicable updates are processed as needed and all documentation is completed.
- Complete rent determination process for all required people supported, annually at minimum.
- Research and resolve any issues or variances on a timely basis.
- Support month-end and year end close process.
- Assist with annual external audits to ensure compliance. Support the audit fieldwork including work paper preparation, audit task scheduling, and communication with internal and external resources to obtain requested billing related audit information.
- Provide general administrative support to the office by answering calls, redirecting to intended recipients, answering the door, and providing guidance to visitors.
- Support ongoing audit and compliance efforts at the Agency such as monthly site & van safety checklists. Follow up with Agency employees as needed and complete required tracking.
- Demonstrate and implement knowledge of Communitas policies, funding source guidelines and applicable laws.
- Follow HIPPA, security regulations and guidelines and always ensure confidentiality.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required
- A minimum of 1-2 years Billing experience
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, and automated accounting system required; familiarity with residential housing and billing platforms a plus
