About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our leadership team. This is a hybrid role — 3 days a week onsite at our Wakefield, MA office — for a seasoned, client-focused professional with 10+ years of public accounting experience who wants technical work that matters and a direct hand in client relationships, not just a review queue.
Responsibilities- Supervise tax engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards
- Plan and schedule tax engagements with clients and internal resources
- Build and maintain direct client relationships
- Perform detailed reviews of tax returns and work papers
- Conduct tax research projects
- Communicate with clients and team members on project status, opportunities, and issues
- Provide training, direction, and oversight to team members
- Maintain technical expertise across relevant tax areas and industry specializations
- Build new client relationships and manage an existing book of business, including budgets and production goals
- Support consulting and special projects as requested by management and clients
- BSBA in Accounting
- CPA certification required
- 10+ years of experience in public accounting
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused
- Experience with Quick Books, Pro System fx Tax, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Base salary $130,000–$165,000 per year, based on relevant experience, skills, education, and internal equity
