Paraprofessional EYP

Position: Paraprofessional for EYP
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program is looking for a paraprofessional to work with students in a preschool to grade 2 setting.

Qualifications:

High school diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree. Ability to work with special needs children in a preschool to second grade setting.

Reports to:

Classroom teacher

Scope of duties include:

• Responsible to and functions under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Work with an individual student, offering 1:1 support, as needed
• Assist the teacher in the delivery of instruction and the implementation of the IEP goals and objectives
• Ensure the safety of the children in all environments
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including at arrival and dismissal, lunch, snack time and recess
• Provide personal care support such as toileting and self care
• Assist in facilitating the independence, social awareness, language and appropriate behavior
• Must be able to lift, pull or push approximately 40 lbs and have the ability to move quickly from standing to floor and floor to standing
• Be willing to participate in some on-site language training

Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening
