Qualification:
- Minimum high school diploma/GED; associated degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with elementary students with special education needs preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
Definition:
The TLC classroom is a multi-grade, substantially separate special education program, combining individualized academics, related services, medical, and personal care support for each student. We are seeking a paraprofessional to serve as a student's 1:1 aide to support them throughout their day, attending inclusion opportunities, and receiving direct instruction from the TLC special education teacher.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement teacher-designed instructional activities under the direct supervision of the special education teacher
- Monitor and provide students with assistance during inclusion classroom activities
- Implement accommodations in accordance with the student's IEP
- Assist with personal care needs of student, as needed (feeding, toileting, etc)
- Assist with student's social-emotional, sensory, or motor needs
- Assist the teacher in observing, charting, and recording student data
- Safety Care training required (will be provided by district)

Salary:
Commensurate with Wakefield Public Schools' Unit C salary schedule. ISPs in this program are also eligible for a $1,200 stipend.
