Job DescriptionQualifications:
- K-5 Moderate or Severe Special Needs Certification required
- Experience working with students with significant social/emotional impairments/disabilities.
- Experience/background knowledge of Social Emotional Learning Curriculum and implementation
- Experience creating and implementing programming that supports the needs of students in both inclusion and Special Education settings
- Experience collaborating with general education teachers to create plans that support academic, social, and emotional learning of students on caseload
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of special education caseload of students in program, ensuring implementation of and compliance with all mandates related to IEP process.
- Provide, if necessary, small group instruction of grade level content
- Develop therapeutic service delivery model in which all students improve social/emotional competencies to become self-sufficient and independent learners.
- Establish and maintain regular two-way communication with parents
- Manage and direct paraprofessionals to support the needs of students
- Collaborate with outside agencies to support social emotional team model, as appropriate
- Support transitions for students fromPK therapeutic programming to elementary and into middle school therapeutic programming.
- Perform all such duties as assigned by the Principal and Administration of Special Education.
