Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering analyses and design.
- Perform laboratory testing of soil samples.
- Observe soil borings and log soil and rock samples.
- Monitor construction activities such as pile driving and footing construction.
- Perform computations, prepare spreadsheets, and edit drawings using AutoCAD.
- Assist with preparation of proposals and reports.
- This is an excellent opportunity to learn from senior staff and gain a wide range of experience.
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. Soil mechanics, foundations, or similar coursework preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel on temporary assignment if needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to work in the field as required.
- Ability to perform field work at active construction sites year‑round without restrictions, including in inclement weather if required.
- Work environment:
Sedentary, Light, Medium. - Activity Level Throughout Workday:
- Occasional (0-35% of day) – Sitting, Standing, Walking, Climbing, Lifting (floor to waist level 0‑25 lbs), Lifting (waist level and above 0‑25 lbs), Carrying objects, Push/pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl, Wrist position deviation, Pinching/fine motor skills, Keyboard use/repetitive motion (4+ hours), Taste or smell, Talk or hear.
- Frequent (33-66% of day) – Same actions as above.
- Continuous (67-100% of day) – Same actions as above.
- Vision requirements:
Accurate 20/40, Very Accurate 20/20, Near Vision, Far Vision. - Color discrimination:
Accurate. - Sensory requirements:
Minimal, Moderate, Accurate. - Environment requirements:
Blood borne pathogens, Chemical, Airborne communicable diseases, Extreme temperatures, Radiation, Uneven surfaces or elevations, Extreme noise levels, Dust/particulate matter.
