Geotechnical Co-Op

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering analyses and design.
• Perform laboratory testing of soil samples.
• Observe soil borings and log soil and rock samples.
• Monitor construction activities such as pile driving and footing construction.
• Perform computations, prepare spreadsheets, and edit drawings using AutoCAD.
• Assist with preparation of proposals and reports.
• This is an excellent opportunity to learn from senior staff and gain a wide range of experience.

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. Soil mechanics, foundations, or similar coursework preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel on temporary assignment if needed.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to work in the field as required.
• Ability to perform field work at active construction sites year‑round without restrictions, including in inclement weather if required.

• Vision requirements:
  Accurate 20/40, Very Accurate 20/20, Near Vision, Far Vision.
• Color discrimination:
  Accurate.
• Sensory requirements:
  Minimal, Moderate, Accurate.
• Environment requirements:
  Blood borne pathogens, Chemical, Airborne communicable diseases, Extreme temperatures, Radiation, Uneven surfaces or elevations, Extreme noise levels, Dust/particulate matter.
