Job Description
The VP, Business Banking Portfolio Manager III ("PM III") reports to the Corporate Credit division and works with Business Bankers and Commercial Credit to maintain effective credit administration and risk management practices for the Business Banking portfolio. The position will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Business Banking loans, including both C&I and CRE loans, while also overseeing the management of Business Banking loans assigned to direct reports.
The position will be involved in the monitoring and resolution of marginal Business Banking credits and will provide support to the Business Banking Portfolio Management Team Lead ("Team Lead") on strategic directives. The PM III will also be expected to provide guidance and mentoring to junior PM's serving as direct reports.
- File credit and financial documentation in nCino upon receipt
- Monitor and complete financial covenants, financial reporting requirements, renewals and annual reviews for assigned loans
- Pull BIC and nCino reports for portfolio monitoring and surface important information. Reporting to include covenants, maturities, MAPs, ACH, etc. Monitor reports for Maturity Date, Commitment Review Date, Commitment Renewal Date.
- Manage and complete loan advances for approval
- Communicate with Relationship Managers and borrower in regards to financial covenants and financial performance
- Obtain customer information and statements to complete financial analysis
- Perform and oversee underwriting of transactions for assigned customers of team
- Attend and fully participate at Credit Committee and Predeal Committee
- Ensure accurate completion of Terms & Conditions for loans within nCino
- Become an expert with industry terminology

- Provide guidance and support to direct reports. Will likely be asked to serve as a mentor to more junior staff.
- Initiate or expand development plans for direct reports, providing appropriate training and learning opportunities based on present and future job responsibilities
- Give direction to team and make recommendations to Team Lead for policy enhancements / exceptions
- Maintain understanding of Bank's Credit Policy & Business Banking procedures
- Maintain familiarity and understanding of Business Banking RACs
- Become proficient with the Bank's 15-point Risk Rating System and risk rating scorecards, demonstrating an ability to complete individually
- Maintain awareness of locations for Bank policies and procedures on the intranet
- Help peers establish action plans to resolve difficult credits
- Review and approval of Renewals/Modifications
- Track dashboards and reporting to evaluate portfolio KPI's and KRI's
- Offer new commercial lending perspectives on special projects
- Participate in the preparation and presentation team training material

- Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred. - Experience:
10+ years in commercial banking experience with evidence of prior involvement in the underwriting and management of commercial loans. - Exposure to a broad range of commercial lending products and knowledge of commercial loan concepts and structure, specifically with C&I loans and CRE mortgages.
- Requires accounting, credit and regulatory knowledge.
- Advanced degree preferred but not required if there is material banking experience.
- Prior experience with SBA loans and/or managing workout credits is a plus.
- Strong credit risk analytics skills with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key risk factors.
- Strong project management skills and experience.
- Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communication, including management presentations.
- Proficient technical skills including Microsoft office with emphasis on PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Advanced knowledge of nCino, OPTIMA, FIS, Collateral
360 and CASH systems. - Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of credit, applicable regulations and knowledge of the Bank's Credit Policy.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to coach and mentor Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers on credit concepts and market factors.
