Job Summary
New England Coffee is one of the largest independent coffee roasters in the Northeast, located in Malden, MA. In addition to serving our local community with the best coffee, our blends are available in retail store locations across the country. The Delivery Driver supports the distribution team by ensuring complete, accurate, and on‑time deliveries to customers, representing the company in a professional, safe, and cost‑effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations.
ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing items, and verifying the accuracy of customer orders
- Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs
- Assist customers with new orders and handle issues in a timely manner
- Collect payment for delivered products, make necessary changes, and record transactions on proper paperwork, obtaining the customer’s signature
- Deliver payments to manager at the end of shift
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water daily
- Alert management of necessary or required maintenance/repairs needed on the delivery vehicle promptly
- Complete daily post‑trip vehicle inspection report according to company policy and DOT guidelines
- Attend company meetings and training programs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of delivery driving experience preferred or ability to be trained, preferably delivering products in a retail or customer‑facing environment
- Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain a DOT medical card
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past two years
- Forklift certification helpful
- Ability to work overtime, including Saturdays, as needed to complete deliveries
- Customer service attitude with good communication skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds daily
