OverviewALS Wakefield is seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Analyst (Grade
1) to join our dynamic Organics department. No previous lab experience? No problem — full training will be provided. All we ask is that you bring your curiosity, commitment, and a keen eye for detail.
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (with flexi-time available once trained)
- Salary: £24,242
- Location: Ossett, Wakefield
- Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term, Full-Time
- Analysing samples using a range of GC, GCMS, and LCMS techniques
- Recording accurate results in line with quality standards and laboratory procedures
- Ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation and internal quality systems
- Supporting colleagues to meet daily performance targets
- Participating in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis (following screening)
- Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
- A passion for science and a strong willingness to learn
- 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Science, Maths and English, plus an A-Level (or equivalent) in a Scientific subject
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic IT competency
- A proactive, client-focused attitude
- Annual Leave commencing at 25 days (rising to 30) plus 8 public holidays (pro rata for part time)
