Overview
NAC is looking for enthusiastic, keen-to-learn individuals over 21 years of age who possess a full driving licence to join as Trainee Domestic Appliance Engineers. As a trainee domestic appliance engineer you will be trained to diagnose and repair faults to a wide range of multi‑brand domestic appliances as a City & Guilds accredited engineer.

- Carry out field‑based repairs to domestic appliances installed at customer premises, in line with NAC’s high standards.
- Diagnose faults through testing of components and perform repairs on washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, cookers and refrigeration units.
- Travel between 5–10 customers per day within the postcode areas assigned.
- Maintain diary management, support triage of customer complaints, manage appointments and accurately record field diagnostics and inventory.
- Demonstrate professional and courteous interpersonal skills with customers at all times.
Week 1 – Initial Induction:
Full induction with a senior engineer at our Wakefield training centre.
Week 2 & 3 – City & Guilds Accredited Foundation Training:
Basic training on appliance types, components, fault‑finding and testing.
Weeks 4–7 – Field Based Training:
Hands‑on experience under supervision, use of job management system, and refined interpersonal skills through daily customer interactions.
Week 8 – Final Assessments and Sign‑Off:
Formal completion at Wakefield HQ, followed by issuance of company van and equipment.
Week 9 – Independent Deployment:
Begin work as a Trainee Domestic Appliance Engineer in your own area with a reduced allocation of 5 jobs per day, supported remotely by a mentor engineer.
Post‑training the role includes periodic review sessions, further training courses and package re‑assessment.

Benefits & Development- Start salary of £25,775 with the aim of reaching £28,000–£30,000 within one year and £35,000+ within two years.
