Maintains Fixed Asset records for the Parent Company and all Subsidiaries in accordance with Homewood’s standards and practices. Enters journal entries and performs monthly general ledger reconciliations. Assists in preparing and publishing monthly financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintains the organization's fixed asset and capital expenditure records, including acquisitions, disposals, and construction/renovation project capitalization.
- Obtains proper authorizations for capital expenditures and updates capital budget pacing sheets for management.
- Processes monthly depreciation, maintains the PPE roll-forward schedule, and reviews maintenance/repair accounts to ensure capital items are coded correctly.
- Obtains capital lease contracts from the Purchasing Director; maintains the capital lease schedule and posts related interest expense entries to the general ledger.
- Participates in monthly general ledger close, including balance sheet account monitoring, journal entries, and Support Services expense allocations.
- Assists with biweekly payroll tax payments.
- Prepares and publishes monthly financial statements for senior managers.
- Provides financial records and supporting documentation for financial audits, cost reports, and regulatory/agency surveys.
- Assists with annual insurance renewals.
- Serves as backup for accounts payable invoice and check run processing.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Two to three years of experience in a similar accounting role preferred.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and fixed asset systems (e.g., Sage FAS or similar).
- Experience with paperless accounts payable or document workflow systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to record information accurately and concisely.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
- Self-motivated, deadline-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Professional and courteous in all interactions, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. This role requires frequent use of a computer and other office equipment. This position is largely sedentary but may involve occasional walking and reaching. Must be able to use hands to operate computers and other tools. Visual requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Minimal lifting may be required.
